KB Apprenticeships

Karamfiles Builders are dedicated to the employment and training of youth in the local community. Sam Karamfiles is following in his fathers’ footsteps by directly indenturing young apprentice carpenters to develop their skills in the construction industry.

The two fold effect of this commitment to employment and training is:

  1. Apprentices and trainees form a large part of the KB construction workforce.
  2. KB are training competent tradespeople for the future.

Evidence that the training program is working is the positive feedback that is received from external training organisations such as The South West Regional College of TAFE, The Apprenticeship & Traneeship Company, formal accreditations and awards from industry bodies and in general the high quality of workmanship that KB apprentices exhibit.

Sam Karamfiles has been awarded the honour of MBA Trainer of the year in 2006 and 2008 which directly reflects his commitment to training apprentices in the trade of Carpentry & Joinery.

Another achievement for Karamfiles Builders is the success of 4th Year Apprentice Carpenter Michael Bachos who was awarded the MBA runner-up for Apprentice of the Year in 2006 and then he was awarded the Overall Winner for Carpentry & Joinery Studies at the Southwest Regional College of TAFE in 2007.

In addition to indenturing on-site apprentices the team at KB are also happy to encourage work experience students and trainees both on-site and in the administration office.
